Quantitative Analysis of Eugenol in Different Parts of Clove

Eugenol is the key active constituent of clove. The aim this study was to analyze concentration in different parts dried Clove (tail, mid body and flower) by IR Spectroscopy graphical comparison concentration. In experiment part clove used perform quantitative analysis. Two methods were followed for Spectroscopy, Attenuated Total Reflectance (ATR) sampling method KBr Pellet method. Pellets prepared at 1:99 (Clove part: KBr) spectrum drawn between reason (650 4000). 5 samples analysed [Sample 01- flower, Sample 02- just below 03- body, 4 -mid Body 2nd 05 -tail part]. wavelengths target 1513 cm-1 1431 cm-1. analysis performed % transmittance absorbance. Plotted Spectra compared with Spectral Database Organic Compounds (SDOC) spectra-base Wiley. 03 shows higher area comparatively remaining four both peaks (1513 as well cm-1).
